Carol Burns

studied Art and Design at
Glasgow Metropolitan College's
School of Design,
prior to embarking on a
3-year Fashion Design
and Business Degree course at
Glasgow Caledonian University
in her native Scotland.

After five years working in London,
she decided to switch the focus of her career,
becoming involved in the management of a
major charitable organisation in the UK.

Since moving to Thailand, she has been able to put this experience to good use
by becoming extensively involved in welfare work.

She is currently setting up tours for the blind at Bangkok's National Museum
and is running a "people bank" of volunteers as part of the
BWG (British Women's Group) Bangkok.

In her spare time, she is appreciating having the chance
to give expression once again to her artistic talents.

She is available for fine-art commissions and illustration work.

a word from Carol:

Since moving to Thailand I have rediscovered my "arty" side and
I'm never happier than when I'm hunched over the dining room table
trying to put down on paper what I see in my mind's eye.

I have always been fascinated by the act of creation.
To see something which has only existed in your imagination become a reality, is an amazing thing.

I also love words and the images that can be created by them.
I incorporate a lot of words in my work because for me,
words, thoughts, emotions and pictures are all connected.

I do a lot of voluntary work but have no social life so am available for commissions
- feel free to eat up my leisure time!!

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating it.

20% of all sales from this website will go to charity

10% will go into the BWG (British Women's Group) Bangkok Welfare Fund.
It funds things like shoes for orphans, medicine for hospitals based at refugee camps, toys for children suffering with aids, rebuilding homes after slum fires etc)
